It is fairly well known that only one in ten men look good in an off-the-peg suit. The other nine are forced to resort to their tailors to get the jacket and trousers looking right. Patrick Hellmann Collection boutiques are actually atelier-shops, where they will not only carry out the necessary alterations to a chosen article of clothing, but make clothes to order according to one or other of a number of patterns that have been specially designed for different figures, or according to an individual pattern. The client simply rings up for an appointment at a convenient time, when the whole staff can be at his service. There are couturiers on hand and a whole range of fabrics, from which clients can design their own suits, shirts, coats etc. True, the orders take some time to complete, because no matter where the measurements have been taken – in Moscow, Berlin, Chicago or Sydney – all Patrick Hellmann’s suits are made only in Naples and only by Italians and only by hand. |  |
