Progression
First third: Spicy, animal and balsamy tangs are predominant in the aroma. The taste rapidly gathers richness and pungency with black pepper the most prominent. Second third: The sensations produced by the cigar change imperceptibly. Burnt tangs (of burning wood) make themselves felt in the aroma, and there is a barely perceptible hint of sweetish fruit. The taste becomes more acrid, drier and harsher. Final third: The aroma becomes more complex with animal tangs being distinctly felt, and mild sweetish spicy and tropical woody nuances appearing.
Recommendations
Accompanying drink: dark rum, a not too old blended whisky, Turkish coffee. Smoking time: an evening with friends.
General impressions
The cigar does not amaze, but neither does it disappoint. It is a good quality product, which provides an even smoke. The aroma is rather straightforward, the taste a little too bitter, and the burning progression – aside from the last third – is not particularly interesting.
