This is a new format for the Cohiba brand, and does not exist in their main line. The outer wrapper leaf is thin and shiny. The cap is pigtailed. In its unlit state, it possesses a powerful aroma containing oriental spices, pine resin, and mahogany, as well as a bitter and not very strong taste, the elements of which include cedar, pepper and the flavour of sun-baked grass.
At first the cigar seems moderately mild and pleasant. But it soon develops a dignified aroma that reveals clearly expressed suggestions of spices, noble woods and the hot ashes of burning logs.
In its second third, the cigar becomes stronger, but never gets more than averagely strong. Smoking stays mild and pleasant to the end. The taste is mainly bitter and sharp with a pinch of salt, and hints of cedar, pepper, grilled meat and cake crumbs are distinguishable.
The cigar’s aromatic range, the richness and purity of its tonal scale and its prolonged effect upon the palate are a source of great joy. Like the previous cigar, the Media Corona has a complex character and a full-flavoured taste despite its modest format, and these qualities make it possible to derive huge pleasure from the cigar in a brief space of time.
